FREEdom Friday

For 30+ singles like me, Friday may be the day of the week that works like a double-edged sword. Well, most of the time, I look forward to Friday as the end of the work week and start of a ‘gala’ weekend.

But, bear in mind that Friday may also be a ‘peer-pressure’ day. Why?

Remember when you were in your early to mid-20s? When you and your friends look forward to Friday to dine out, go to the bar, drink all you can and rave from dusk til dawn? Oh! That was like the giddiest and action-packed time of your life! (Ha! I remember those days….) And then, you suddenly realize that time has flown so fast, parang di mo man lang namalayan, most of your barkada are now either married or in a ‘serious’ relationship (Anyare ‘teh*?). And there it goes… Friday now  just seems to be like one of the days you look forward to rest (sign of aging hehehe)

Pressure arises when one of your colleagues asks you “san gimmick natin ma’am/sir?” Good for those who already have a plan. But how about those without?

Fret not my dears! Here are some of the effect* FREEdom Friday aura*.

  1. GO TO THE GYM.

Seriously, this is one of the most fruitful lakad you’ll ever get. Nakaiwas ka na sa gastos, naging healthy ka pa. And you sweat those office toxins that you get from the week that was. And the good thing about going to the gym on a Friday – wala masyadong tao! You don’t have to queue to get on that treadmill or use the weights. And what do you get after a good workout? Happy hormones! PAK!! 🙂

  1. DATE A BOOK.

Yes, you read it right. Who said you can only go on a dinner date with a person? Luma na yan! Grab a book that interests you and go to your favorite coffee shop. I swear! This is one of the most relaxing lakad you can do. Nakapag-chill ka na, natuto ka pa! Malay mo, may tumabi pa sa ‘yo. O-ha! PAK!!

  1. MARK-THAT-DATE SALE.

What’s one of the things that most girls go gaga with? SHOPPING!!! I-marka na sa kalendaryo ang schedule ng sale. Oh! Enough said. :p #alamna! #retailtherapy #gastos

Tip: Masaya magshopping mag-isa. Wala kang dapat antayin. Hindi mo kelangan makisama. Sarili mo ang oras mo. Shop til you drop ika nga. Good luck lang sa traffic! Wehehehe

  1. DOWNLOAD MARATHON

You have 4 days to download all the series episodes that you missed or movie that you want to watch. Come Friday, enjoy the download marathon at the comfort of your home. To add fun, isama mo na ang ibang mga single friends mo (kung meron pa..hehehe) at dagdagan ng konting inuman! Wasakan na ng buhay to!!!! For sure, isa ito sa pinakamasayang bonding ninyo! #alamna hahahaha

  1. SPRING CLEANING

I-am-a-working-girl ba ang peg mo? Or career kung career ang work and you don’t have the time to even make-walis your flat? (hahaha! Arte! “make-walis”!) Pwes! This is the best time to schedule your spring cleaning. Prepare those cleansing paraphernalia and start cleaning your flat (or room :D). After that tiring activity (nakakapagod kaya maglinis), get a refreshing shower and cuddle your way to sleep with your newly changed bed sheets. Oh! How fulfilling! *wink*

There you go my dears! There are still many other ways to enjoy your FREEdom Friday. Remember, some of the best things in life are FREE. So grab it! 😉

Care to share your FREEdom Friday plans? 😀
